Stormers ‘gelling as a team and it’s working’

If the Stormers can click as a cohesive unit, they are confident of “getting the upper hand” over the Cardiff Blues in Sunday’s Vodacom United Rugby Championship clash at the Cape Town Stadium.
John Dobson’s men set the field alight in a 55-7 thrashing of Zebre in Stellenbosch, with the hosts scoring five of their nine tries in the first half of the match.
Damian Willemse starred at inside centre and fullback in his 50th appearance for the Cape side, while speedster Seabelo Senatla scored a hat-trick.
“I’m a strong believer in cohesion, which also comes from having a similar team on the field regularly,” forwards coach Rito Hlungwani said. “Our players have a high skill level, but there needs to also be a high level of cohesion to execute on game day.”
No 8 Evan Roos added: “I think the guys are gelling as a team and it’s working well for us.”
But, Hlungwani expects a stiff challenge from Cardiff, despite the Welsh outfit’s 37-20 defeat bythe Lions. “Cardiff really don’t stop … they just kept coming at the Lions and punched way above their weight at the set pieces,” he said.
“So, we’re going to be working hard on getting the upper hand.”
