Tim Tszyu’s Quest for 19-0

Tim Tszyu vs Steve Spark takes place at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre in Newcastle, New South Wales at 5:00 AM EST on July 7th, 2021. The live event goes down in Australia, with the broadcast transpiring on Kayo and Main Event.

The WBO global super welterweight championship is on the line here, with Tszyu and Spark occupying the champion and challenger roles, respectively.

Michael Zerafa was initially supposed to be in this bout prior to Spark taking his place. But Zerafa pulled out seven days prior to the event date.

COVID-19 worries reportedly caused Zerafa to drop out, Spark was already preparing to fight on July 24th, and the training became truncated to pivot towards this prizefight with Tszyu.

Tim Tszyu is an undefeated pro boxing champion that could vault himself towards even bigger opportunities with a highlight-reel win here.

Tim Tszyu admittedly seemed disappointed the Zerafa fight fell out, but he is grateful there is a plan B.

Moreover, he knows the magnitude of the task in front of him even on short notice. Someone Tszyu Spark live on tv describes as being a dangerous fighter with a lot of power as well as stamina.

Steve Spark Steps up to Fight Tszyu

For Spark, this is his first bout above welterweight and only his second above junior welterweight. Steve Spark enters this fight on the heels of what many pundits are calling the best victory of his pro career so far.

Spark is coming off of besting Jack Brubaker via unanimous decision in their April bout. This after being dropped in the first frame and rallying back to secure the win on points.

Steve Spark sees this as his cinematic moment invoking titles like Cinderella Man and Rocky to describe this Tszyu fight online contest coming together.
